Nick’s Stated Worldview
- Monotheism: Belief in one supreme, creator God.
- The Trinity: Belief that God exists as three persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit.
- The Identity of Jesus: Belief that Jesus is fully God and fully human, born of a virgin, and lived a sinless life.
- The Resurrection: Belief that Jesus physically rose from the dead three days after being crucified.
- Salvation by Grace: Belief that forgiveness of sins and eternal life are free gifts from God, received through personal faith in Jesus rather than by human works.
- The Bible: Acceptance of the Old and New Testaments as the inspired Word of God and ultimate authority for faith
- Origin of Life: Theistic Worldview
- Imago Dei: All men are created in the image of God, therefore:
- Human Dignity and Rights: Because value is bestowed directly by God, human worth does not depend on physical capacity, intelligence, or societal utility.
- The Unborn: Biblically we are fearfully and wonderfully made in our mothers womb, the Imago Dei begins at conception.
- Equality: A foundational opposition to hierarchies and discrimination by affirming equal standing among all people.
- Intended Design: Created by God, in His image, He created them Male and Female.
- Stewardship: Humans carry a responsibility to cultivate, protect, and care for the physical world and other living creatures.
- Gender: Male and Female
- Divinely Designed: According to Genesis 1:27, God created humanity as male and female, defining gender as an objective, sacred fact rather than a social construct or internal feeling.
- Imago Dei: Both men and women are equally created in the image of God (Imago Dei), possessing equal dignity, value, and worth.
- Interdependent Purpose: The physical and ontological distinctions between the two sexes are designed to complement one another and reflect God’s intentional order.
- Complementarianism: Men and women have equal spiritual worth but distinct, harmonious roles. In this view, husbands provide spiritual leadership in the home, and specific governing roles in the church are reserved for qualified men, while both equally serve Christ.
- Rejection of Fluidity: Rejecting modern cultural distinctions that separate biological sex from a fluid or self-assessed gender identity.
- Biblical responsibility of civil involvement: Civil function determines the quality of life and availability of freedoms by law and order, engagement with civil function with a biblical worldview is required to fight for the right to operate within that worldview.
- It is our responsibility if said freedoms and liberties are lost to hold true to what we believe, regardless, but that does not excuse a lackadaisical approach to protecting what we have and bettering what is lacking.
- Parenting: Children are a gift from God and as parents we are responsible for the stewardship of that gift.
- Stewardship Over Ownership: Children are viewed as gifts from God rather than possessions, making parents caretakers meant to guide them toward God’s design.
- Heart Realignment: Discipline and instruction aim to address the internal condition of a child’s heart rather than just enforcing outward compliance or rules.
- Primary Spiritual Mentorship: Parents are designated as the chief spiritual leaders in a child’s life, responsible for modeling faith, reading scripture, and praying daily.
- Grace and Modeling: Parents are encouraged to model Christ-like grace, admitting their own mistakes, asking for forgiveness, and demonstrating repentance to their children.
- Everyday Discipleship: Weaving faith conversations into daily routines, meals, and transitions, as outlined in Deuteronomy 6.
- Teaching the Gospel: Helping children understand concepts of sin, mercy, and reconciliation through Jesus Christ at an age-appropriate level.
- Balanced Boundaries: Providing consistent, loving boundaries and guidance without resorting to harshness that exasperates or embitters children.
